Using The Pax 3 Vaporizer Review
To help you decide whether the Pax 3 vaporizer is worth your money, let’s run through a few of this vaporizer’s key features.
Quick Extraction and App Temperature Control
Once you get the Pax 3 vaporizer in your hands, you’ll notice the loading chamber is on the bottom of the device. You can usually fit between 0.3 – 0.4 grams of finely ground herbs inside the vaporizer’s stainless-steel oven.
If you’re an impatient vaper, then here’s good news: it only takes 22 seconds for the Pax 3 vaporizer to heat up. As a bonus, the Pax 3’s haptic feedback will let you know precisely when to take your first draw. This is one of the key points of our Pax 3 vaporizer review since we’re all about the quickness. Impatience is acceptable when it comes to vaping.
Users also enjoy full control of their vaping experience thanks to the Pax 3’s Android app. With this app, you can easily select and track your desired temperature from 360 – 420°F.
Great Vapor Production and Airflow for a Small Vape
Both the Pax 3’s oven and vapor path are made with stainless steel, so there’s no need to worry about a burnt plastic taste. As for the Pax 3’s mouthpiece, users can choose from a raised or flat lid.
Although the Pax 3 vaporizer easily fits in the palm of your hand, it has a surprising amount of power. The conduction oven can produce dense vapor on high settings. Since the device is so small, there’s not a lot of space for the vapor to cool off. For this reason, some users describe the Pax 3’s vapor quality as a bit harsh.
Cleaning the Pax 3 Vaporizer
Cleaning the Pax 3 vaporizer is more involved than other portable vaporizers. Not only are there more parts to clean, but the airpath is also made with steel rather than glass. Since most people like to use the Pax 3 vaporizer away from home, cleaning after each session could be tricky.
At a minimum, you should use the Pax 3’s included pipe cleaners to brush your device after every session. To improve your product’s longevity, be sure to wipe the Pax 3’s mouthpiece and oven with isopropyl alcohol every week.
Impressive Battery Life
The Pax 3’s battery has a power of 3500 mAH, which is 500 mAH stronger than the Pax 2. On average, you should get between 8 – 10 full bowls out of each charge.
Every Pax 3 vaporizer comes with a magnetic charging dock and a USB charging cord. Usually, it takes 90 minutes to give the Pax 3 a full charge.
Features Allow Ease of Use
A nice feature about the Pax 3’s design is that its mouthpiece doubles as the main button. Simply press this top button to turn the device on or off. With your device on, hold the center button to enter temperature mode; cycle through the four preset temps by clicking the button. This one-button feature makes the Pax 3 one of the market’s most user-friendly vaporizers.
Two Pax 3 vaporizer accessories worth noting are the Pax 3 concentrate insert and the half-pack oven lid. The first device allows you to vape your favorite extracts—but don’t expect a potent dab at only 420° F. The half-pack oven lid, on the other hand, helps improve airflow when using 0.2 g of dried herb.
Pax 3 Vaporizer: Warranty and Accessories
On Pax Labs’ website, you can purchase the Pax 3 vaporizer as a standalone product for $200 or in a “complete kit” bundle for $250. Both packages include the following Pax 3 accessories:
- USB Charger
- Cleaning Kit
- Oven Lid
- Two Mouthpieces (Raised and Flat)
The extra accessories in the “complete kit” include the half-pack oven lid, a keychain with packing tools, three oven screens, and the Pax 3 concentrate insert. Every Pax 3 vaporizer comes with a 10-year warranty.
Pax 3 vs. Firefly 2 Portable Vaporizer
The Firefly 2 is a premium, portable vaporizer that’s often compared with the Pax 3. For your reference, let’s briefly run through the top distinctions between the Pax 3 vs. Firefly 2.
First, a glaring difference in the battle of Pax 3 vs. Firefly 2 vaporizer has to do with size. At 5.1’’ x 1.6’’ x 1.0’’, the Firefly 2 is still quite portable, but it’s nowhere near the Pax 3’s super-small 3.8’’ x 1.2’’ x 0.85’’. If you’re going to take anything away from our Pax vaporizer review, it’s that it’s tiny and quick.
Another significant feature is that the Firefly 2 uses convection heating. Even though this vaporizer has a range from 200 – 500°F, the vapor production tends to be more flavorful than the Pax 3 vaporizer. The Firefly 2’s glass pathway also helps cool the vapor before it reaches your mouth.
Two features where the Firefly 2 shines include its impressive 3-second heat-up time and its 45-minute battery charge. Like the Pax 3, the Firefly 2 has app connectivity and concentrate options. The Pax 3 is $200 on its own, while the Firefly 2 now retails for $250.
To sum it up, the Firefly 2 is best suited for vapers who want smoother draws and minimal cleaning. The Pax 3 vaporizer, on the other hand, offers better portability and denser vape production at a lower price point.
