Silver Surfer Overview

Manufacturer: 7th Floor Vapes

Based in the US, 7th Floor Vapes creates internationally recognized (but domestically built) vape equipment that has attracted some high-profile fans.

Great Vapor Quality

The ceramic heating unit combined with glass components has consistently garnered the Silver Surfer Vaporizer top marks for taste and overall vaping experience.

Who’s the Silver Surfer for?

The Silver Surfer Vaporizer is a great option for people who have tried other products and are ready to invest some cash in a high-quality vaporizer.

Durable Desktop Vaporizer

This is not a cheap vaporizer but it’s a great value over the long term, assuming you take good care of it.

Using The Silver Surfer Vaporizer

This popular stationary vaporizer is a whip-style vape similar in functionality to the Da Buddha.

Large Range Of Temperature Settings

The Silver Surfer Vaporizer was the first vaporizer to use a ceramic heater, and it’s still one of the most powerful on the market. This feature alone creates a clean, even-heating vaping experience that’s worth spending some extra cash on.

The unit heats up in 3-5 minutes, and the temperature is controlled by an analog glass knob, which looks really cool but is breakable if dropped.

There is no display to tell you the exact temperature, so it takes some time to figure out the optimal position for your vaping experience. (Some people solve this problem by marking their preferred position on the vaporizer.)

The first time you use it, you should let it heat up to the highest temperature setting and let it sit there for about 30 minutes to burn off any residues that might have been left in the chamber from the manufacturing process.

Dense Vapor Production

The Silver Surfer is a whip-style vaporizer, which utilizes a high-quality ceramic heating unit. 7th Floor has positioned the heater in an optimal downward position to prevent combustion, keeping the vapor free of impurities.

Another feature of this desktop vaporizer that directly affects vapor quality is the air intake hole, which brings fresh air into the vaporizer with every hit, keeping the vapor fresh.

Most users of the Silver Surfer Vaporizer (including its biggest fans) will admit that there is a bit of a learning curve to getting a great vape on this model. This means a period of experimenting with the temperature dial to find the best position. But the rate at which you draw also affects the quality — long, slow draws create a lot of heat, and fast draws lead to thinner vapor.

That said, once you figure it out, it’s very easy to use, and you’ll be able to produce thick, dense clouds.

Cleaning The Silver Surfer Vaporizer

Keeping your Silver Surfer clean is essential to keeping it in good shape. 7th Floor Vapes recommends cleaning it at least once per month – but if you use it a lot, you may want to do it more often.

Thankfully, the process is not difficult. Remove the glass mouthpiece, wand, and heater cover from your vaporizer (make sure it’s cool first). Your glass pieces should sit in a bowl with your favorite cleaner for at least an hour – or even better, overnight.

After soaking, give the parts a good rinse in warm water and air dry before placing a new screen in the wand and reassembling.

Stand-Out Colourful Design

The Silver Surfer Vaporizer has a design that immediately makes it stand out from the competition. It sits on a flat base but comes up at an angle, keeping your herb from falling into the heating chamber.

This desktop vaporizer is also unique in its color options – you can choose between nine vibrant colors. Additionally, the finish won’t chip – it’s applied ionically so that it can withstand the heat from the ceramic heater.

Since each unit comes with a custom-made glass temperature control knob, no two Silver Surfers are exactly alike.

Silver Surfer Vaporizer: Warranties & Accessories

The Silver Surfer Vaporizer comes with a lifetime limited warranty on all workmanship and labor, as well as a three-year warranty on the unit’s electrical components (which is one of the best warranties in the industry). The glassware, however, is only covered by a thirty-day warranty – so handle with care!

Standard Silver Surfer Vaporizer accessories include a stylish carrying case, one standard vapor whip, a glass tipped stirring tool, and two replacement screens.

If you like to customize, you’ll find a wide range of Silver Surfer vaporizer accessories for sale on 7th Floor’s website: like bases, mouthpieces, and hoses in a variety of colors. You’ll also find parts like a hands-free attachment and a heater stand upgrade kit.

How does the Silver Surfer Vaporizer compare to Da Buddha?

For our Silver Surfer Vaporizer review, we wanted to look at another of 7th Floor’s popular desktop vaporizers for comparison. Da Buddha Vaporizer is the company’s answer to a durable, high-quality vaporizer for those on a tighter budget. It’s a no-frills vaporizer, but like the Silver Surfer it uses a quality ceramic heater.

The biggest difference between the two desktop vaporizers (besides the price) is immediately obvious – the Silver Surfer sits at a 45-degree angle, preventing herb spillage, whereas, Da Buddha sits completely upright.

Also, unlike the versatile Silver Surfer, Da Buddha is hands-free only, and it lacks the custom glass temperature control knob.

Both vaporizers are solid choices. But, in short, if you’ve got the extra bucks we feel the Silver Surfer is worth the upgrade.

7th Floor Vapes: Quality & Craftsmanship

Colorado Springs is home to 7th Floor Vapes, a company with a mission to create the best vape products on the market. Beginning in the early 2000s, company founder Steve Kelnhofer decided to create a vaporizer that eliminated the problems he experienced with the vapes he regularly used.

The company’s signature product, the Silver Surfer Vaporizer was the result – 7th Floor Vapes has since gained an international reputation for durability, versatility, and craftsmanship.

Silver Surfer Vaporizer Review: What’s the Verdict?

The Silver Surfer is a solid, top-shelf desktop vaporizer that looks like a piece of art. The body is made from powder-coated aluminum, and if you choose a custom color or design, the color will be baked right into the coating. This means that it will stay looking great for its whole lifespan.

Once you learn how to use it, the Silver Surfer produces potent and highly flavorful vapor. It comes with a solid 3-year warranty and is manufactured in the US, with the glassware created in 7th Floor’s own studio space (called Elev8 Glass).

If you’re ready to invest in a long-term, high-quality vaporizer, the Silver Surfer is a fantastic option.
